Resumo da palestra:

During this presentation, we will discuss the various aspects of American university life, highlighting the ways in which they diverge from academic culture in Brazil. We will discuss our personal experience as undergraduate and graduate students in the United States, covering topics ranging from the application process to student housing and financial aid. We encourage all of you to also come with any questions you may have regarding college in the United States as we will have ample time set aside in order to address topics important to you.

 

Objetivo geral:

To discuss the various aspects of American university life (from the application process to student housing and financial aid), highlighting the ways in which they diverge from academic culture in Brazil.

 

Biodata dos palestrantes:

  • Calla: I’m Calla Sneller and I’m from Wooster, Ohio. I studied International Relations and Spanish at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. I am passionate about education, travel, experiencing new things, running, cups of tea and cats.
  •  Cameron: My name is Cameron Kesinger and I am from Houston, Texas. I studied International Relations and Human Rights at Macalester College, a small liberal arts college in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During my free time, I enjoy reading, biking, trying new food, and exploring different places. I look forward to getting to know all of you better!
  • Tonia: My name is Tonia Guida and I am from Los Angeles, California. I studied Sociology and Education at a large public university in Los Angeles, California (UCLA). Then, I went and studied higher education at The Univeristy of Texas at Austin and now I am in school for my doctorate degree at UCLA in Education. I love going to the beach, dancing, hiking, and martial arts.
